Job Description

A daycare worker provides safe, nurturing, and educational care for children, focusing on physical, emotional, and social development. Key responsibilities include organizing age-appropriate activities (crafts, songs), supervising playtime, maintaining hygiene (diapering, cleaning), serving meals, and communicating with parents regarding child progress.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervision & Safety: Actively monitor children at all times to ensure a secure environment, including indoor and outdoor playtime.

  • Care & Hygiene: Assist with feeding, grooming, diapering, and bathroom needs, while promoting good personal hygiene habits.

  • Child Development: Plan, prepare, and implement age-appropriate activities, such as reading, crafts, games, and music to foster learning and social skills.

  • Daily Routines: Establish and follow schedules for meals, naps, and snacks.

  • Communication: Maintain open communication with parents and guardians regarding children's daily activities, behavioral changes, or developmental milestones.

  • Facility Maintenance: Ensure the classroom, toys, and equipment are clean, organized, and safe.

Requirements & Skills

  • Patience and Compassion: Ability to work with children in a gentle and caring manner.

  • Certification: Valid Childcare Certifications, First Aid and CPR certification are required.

  • Knowledge of Development: Understanding of childhood development stages.

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal skills for interacting with both children and adults.

  • Reliability: Dependable and punctual to ensure proper staffing ratios.

Physical Demands
The job requires the ability to be active, which includes bending, kneeling, lifting children, and standing for long periods.
